Lafayette Man Arrested For Burglarizing Local Church

Lafayette Police were called out to a church in the 1000 block of Lafayette Street Saturday night after witnesses saw the man trying to breaking into the facility.

Officers showed up to find a man taking electronic equipment out of the church.

Police arrested 34-year-old Paul Portalis of Lafayette on one count of simple burglary of a church or place of worship.

Portalis was also caught on a surveillance camera forcing his way into the church and committing the crime.
