The Lafayette Science Museum hosted a press conference announcing the unsealing of a seven million year old giant camel.

KATC reports that the  fossilized skeleton of Megatylopus was discovered during an expedition last spring, led by Dr. James Martin in association with the Lafayette Science Museum and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's School of Geosciences .

Those involved with the find hope to recreate an exact replica of the giant camel for exhibition at the museum.
