Lafayette Police were called out to a commercial burglary in the 4800 block of West Congress Street early Thursday morning.

Scott Police say a driver commit a traffic violation, and the officer was able to stop the3 car after a short pursuit.

One of the passengers, 17-year-old Demond'Tre Cockrell of Texas, was arrested as a suspect in the case of the commercial burglary as the $5,000 worth of stuff from the burglary was found in the car.

Scott Police officials arrested Cockrell for illegal possession of stolen property.

Lafayette Police then arrested the man for simple burglary and possession of burglary tools.

He was booked into the Lafayette jail.
