The chances of former LSU head coach Les Miles of getting back on the sidelines next year grew even slimmer on Thursday.

The Western Michigan job became open when former coach P.J. Fleck, who guided the Broncos to an unbeaten regular season record, left to become the new head coach at Minnesota.

Western Michigan and California are the only two open head coaching jobs left at the FCS level.

Miles, who was fired by LSU four games into the 2016 season, accumulated an overall record of 114-34 in 12 seasons with the Tigers, including the 2007 season, when LSU won the BCS National Championship.
