Louisiana Man Sentenced to Life for Sex Crimes With Child

(Caddo Parish, Louisiana) - A Caddo Parish man pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court to the sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to life in prison.

Miguel Foret, 18, admitted Monday, December 11, 2023, to the first-degree rape of a toddler. Foret originally reported the rape to the child's grandmother. An investigation determined that the child had been assaulted multiple times.

District Judge Ramona Emanuel sentenced Foret to life in prison without the possibility of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

He also must register as a sex offender for life. Foret was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brittany Arvie. He was defended by Katherine Ferguson.

The case was docket No. 395888.
