Louisiana University Offering A Course In Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain was one of my favorite personalities period. Not just cooking, not just writing, not just on television, I liked to listen to what the guy had to say and I enjoyed the candid and unique view of the world his writings offered. To say I was disappointed in the way his story ended would be an understatement. However, my demons and his demons are not the same and I know all too well about dealing with demons.
Obviously, Anthony Bourdain had an impact than on more than just me. There are a lot of people who want to know more about his musings, his travels, and his cooking too. That's why, as of Spring 2019, you can sign up for a class at Nicholls State University entitled Anthony Bourdain and His Influencers. It's being offered through the NSU school of film studies.
The course hopes to take the student beyond what they've seen or read from Bourdain. The student will go behind the scenes of the television productions and learn the art of Bourdain's masterful storytelling through the medium of TV. The course will also explore Bourdain's literary inspirations and how they manifest themselves in his own unique style of telling the tale of a country, a people, a population, and a cuisine.
