The 19th-ranked LSU Tigers conclude their 2016 season on Saturday, when they take on the 13th-ranked Louisville Cardinals in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

The game, which will be televised on ABC, will mark the fourth time that LSU has played in the Citrus Bowl.

LSU beat Wake Forest, 34-10, in what was then called the Tangerine Bowl in 1979, followed by a 30-25 loss to Iowa in the 2005 game, prior to a 19-14 setback to Penn State to conclude the 2009 season.

The matchup will mark the first time that LSU and Louisville has ever played.

The contest will also mark the 17th-consecutive bowl game for LSU, and their first game with their new permanent head coach, Ed Orgeron, who guided the Tigers to a 5-2 record as interim coach, after taking over for Les Miles in late September.

The Citrus Bowl will mark LSU’s 48th bowl appearance, with the Tigers sporting a 24-22-1 all-time bowl record.

LSU has played in a bowl game every year since 2000.

The Tigers finished the regular season at 7-4, overall, and 4-4 in SEC play.

Offensively, the Tigers are averaging 28.3 points, to go along with 425.7 total yards, including 238.1 rushing yards, and 187.6 passing yards-per-game, while allowing 16.3 points, 323.0 total yards, 121.8 rushing yards, and 201.2 passing yards a contest, defensively.

LSU is led by junior quarterback Danny Etling, who has completed 144-of-240 passes for 1,906 yards and nine touchdowns, along with sophomore Derrius Guice, who has compiled 1,280 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, on 157 carries.

Louisville, a member of the ACC, finished the regular season at 9-3, overall, while finishing in a tie with Clemson atop the league's Atlantic Division, with a 7-1 mark.

The Cardinals are averaging 45.3 points-per-game, to go along with 558.8 total yards, including 256.8 rushing yards and 302.0 passing yards, while allowing 23.3 points, 316.3 total yards, including 110.0 rushing yards and 206.3 passing yards.

The Cardinals feature quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was named the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, after accounting for 51 total touchdowns, including 21 rushing and 30 passing.

Jackson has passed for 3,390 yards and 30 touchdowns, while rushing for another 1,528 yards and 21 scores.

The Cardinals will be making their 21st postseason trip, including their seventh-straight under head coach Bobby Petrino.

Louisville was one of 19 schools with multiple BCS bowl wins (2013 Sugar, 2007 Orange) during the Bowl Championship Series era, and one of only five programs to have an undefeated record in multiple BCS bowl games (2-0).

The Cardinal have won five of their last seven bowl appearances.

Kickoff time at Camping World Stadium is set for 10 am.
