Marks Tweets: Thanks to Cajun Nation
It appears Wyatt Marks has made his decision.
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns relief specialist sent out a tweet this morning, indicating he would be leaving the Cajuns' program after being drafted by the Oakland A's in the 13th round.
From his twitter account:
- wyattmarks31I had two dreams as a kid, one to play baseball for the Ragin Cajuns, and the other to play professional baseball. Cajun nation has exceeded every expectation I had and will easily be considered the best 3 years of my life. I cannot thank all of you enough for the support, truly the greatest fans in the country! 31 signing off. #LoudandHeavy
Marks was named to four All-American teams, including a first team selection by Baseball America. He led the nation in fewest hits given up per nine innings and strikeouts per nine innings. In 59.1 innings, the right hander allowed just 29 hits while striking out 100. He finished the season with a 2-1 record, seven saves and a 2.28 ERA.
Marks joins OF Steven Sensley (12th round) and RHP Evan Guillory (23rd round) as juniors who have come to terms with professional teams.
