New Iberia Police requested that State Police investigate the situation.

A call came in Tuesday afternoon around 1 pm reporting that there was someone in a stopped car right near the intersection of Center and Dale Streets.

When the first officer arrived on the scene to investigate the report he saw a man asleep behind the wheel of the car. The officer knocked on the window and eventually, the driver woke up.
