It took the NFL Hall of Fame committee four times to get it right, but they're finally going ot put the greatest kicker in the history of the league where he belongs.

Morten Andersen is the all-time scoring leader (2,544 points) in league history, as well as the scoring leader for the New Orleans Saints (1,318) and the Atlanta Falcons. In his incredible 25-year career, he set records for most field goals made and games played, as well as making two separate all-decade teams. Now, he's a Hall of Famer too.

He is only the second kicker to ever make it into the Hall of Fame and the third Saints player. Andersen joins Willie Roaf and Rickie Jackson in legendary territory, and he absolutely deserves it.

Andersen joins a stacked Hall of Fame class in 2017, including LaDainian Tomlinson, Kurt Warner, Jason Taylor, Terrell Davis, Kenny Easley and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. There was one notable exclusion though.

Terrell Owens is one of the most controversial figures in the history of the NFL, and it appears the NFL Hall of Fame committee is making him pay for his braggadocios style and brash, flashy persona. For the second straight year, they denied him entry, even though his numbers are deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Owens might have a legitimate beef with the selection committee, but he's certainly not helping himself by blasting them.

Overall though, it's an impressive Hall of Fame class. Saints fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing the best kicker in franchise history will represent the black and gold in the hall of fame. We all know what jersey he will be wearing in Canton.
