If you are looking for something spooky, creepy, and just plain weird for Halloween, then you don't have to go far. I found so many places that are allegedly haunted, right here in Acadiana. Some of theses I knew about, and some were a surprise, but all are worth investigating. Hauntedplaces.org provided a wealth of info for these creepy destinations, and I can't wait to see these legendary and historic locations this Halloween!   • Harris Hall - Lafayette - the women's dorm at UL Lafayette is supposedly haunted by the ghost of a female student
  • T'Frere's House Bed and Breakfast - Broussard - haunted by the ghost of Amelie, who died after falling into a well on the property
  • Mary Jane's Bridge - Broussard - haunted by the spirit of a young lady who was thrown off the bridge after being raped and murdered
  • Chretien Point Plantation - Sunset - spirits of a former mistress and the outlaw she killed on the staircase roam the grounds
  • Bienvenue House Bed and Breakfast - St Martinville - site of the murder of former inn keeper Isabelle Robertson and her invalid daughter Belle
  • St Charles Borromeo Retreat House - Arnaudville - supposedly an old Jesuit priest who used to live there haunts the grounds
  • Joseph Jefferson Mansion - New Iberia - reports of furniture and objects being moved around the house
  • Shadows on the Teche - New Iberia - thought to be haunted by former resident Mary Moore, who died on the grounds during the Civil War
  • Rice Theater - Crowley - supposedly, the freight elevator runs by itself on occasion
  • Public Library - Eunice - doors lock themselves, lights are turned on, and books written by local author Mary Alice Fontenot are hidden on a regular basis
  • Nicholson Home - Washington - was used as a hospital in the Civil War, and is haunted by a one legged soldier named Hoppy or Peg Leg
