We all know that wisdom comes from 'the mouth of babes,' but it can also come from their actions.

After talking with her mother about the day’s news, nine-year-old Samya McLaughlin decided how she wanted to use her birthday money to make bag lunches for Detroit police officers. The lunches included sandwiches, chips, fruit, and a cookie.

Samya told WWJ in Detroit

“I was thinking that I should feed the police officers because I wanted to show them that I support them and I thank them for all that they do,” McLaughlin said. “I wanted to show them that all lives matter.”

Samya also passed made and distributed 30 bagged lunches to homeless people in Detroit’s Cass Corridor.
