
Overdose Death Ruled A Homicide, Suspect Arrested
Lafayette Police have arrested one person they believe provided drugs for a Scott man who later died of an overdose.
Lafayette PD's Sgt. Kyle Soirez said a month-long investigation has led to the arrest of 25-year-old William Williams for the death of 22 year-old Ethon Daigle, of Scott. Williams was charged with second-degree murder.
Police say Daigle and another man were found unresponsive on April 19 at a Lafayette residence on St. Charles Street. Daigle was pronounced dead, while the other man was hospitalized and later recovered. Both men were have said to have suffered a drug overdose.
Police are accusing Williams of having provided the unidentified narcotics to the pair of men. He was arrested and booked into th Lafayette Parish jail.
