Patterson Shooting Leaves 13-Year-Old Boy Dead
Investigators with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating an apparent accidental shooting that left a 13-year-old boy dead last night.
Sheriff's spokesperson Traci Landry reported the shooting occurred in Patterson on Grandwood Drive just a little before midnight Friday.
Landry reported a deputy, who was responding to an unrelated call, was flagged down by several people on Grandwod Drive who reported hearing gun fire.
The deputy found the unresponsive 13-year-old male subject with a gunshot wound to the head in a nearby apartment. The shooting was ruled accidental.
The investigation is ongoing, though, investigators do not suspect foul play was involved.
