Now that we're thawing out from winter, it's time to start looking for that perfect spot to either escape the craziness of Mardi Gras, or plan for an early spring break. Considering that Louisiana is known as the Sportsman's Paradise, it won't be hard to find some places around the state that are known for being serene and welcoming.

  • Bird's Nest on the Cane River - Natchitoches - just minutes from the charming downtown area, in the heart of plantation country
  • Maison D'Memoire Bed & Breakfast - Rayne - serenity just outside of this quiet little Acadiana town
  • Chicot State Park - Ville Platte - 6,400 acres of beautiful hills and waterways to explore
  • Grand Bayou Reservoir - Coushatta - peaceful log cabins and guided fishing trips available
  • Holly Beach - Cameron - known as the 'Cajun Riviera'
  • Palmetto Island State Park - Abbeville - located on the beautiful Vermillion River
  • White Sands Lake Day Beach - Franklinton - rent a kayak, or hang out on the sandy white beaches
  • St Tammany Trace - 28 miles of walkways running through Covington, Mandeville, Abita Springs, Lacombe, and Slidell.
