The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns may not have played their best game of the season on Saturday in Mobile but they grabbed a win in their final road game of the regular season 37-27 over the South Alabama Jaguars.

In the first half, the Cajuns struggled to run the football while the Jags were running wild and Louisiana was struggling to tackle. UL had less than 90 yards rushing while South Al had over 180 yards yet the Cajuns held a 17-14 lead at the half.

In the first half, defensive tackle Ziyon Hill was injured trying to make a tackle and would not return. Also, linebacker Kris Moncrief was ejected for targeting and missed the remainder of the game.

However, the second half was a different story on the ground for Louisiana as they rushed for nearly 200 yards and really controlled the clock.

You do have to give credit to the South Alabama defense as they were able to force the Cajuns to kick field goals on three separate occasions that kept them in the ballgame. In the end, though Louisiana was able to grab two late rushing touchdowns to put things away in the fourth quarter.

In this one, kicker Stevie Artigue kicked the three field goals to break the program record for field goals made all-time.

Elijah Mitchell led the way on the ground as he carried 17 times for 117 yards and a score, Raymond Calais had 13 carries for 77 yards, and Trey Ragas carried 10 times for 52 times and a touchdown.

With the win, the Ragin' Cajuns improved to 8-2 overall, 5-1 in conference and 5-0 on the road this season, the first perfect road record since 1970.

Up next for Louisiana, they'll be back at Cajun Field to face the Troy Trojans (5-5, 3-3 SBC) at 4 p.m.
