The New Orleans Saints added some offensive line depth on Tuesday.

The team signed offensive tackle John Theus off waivers from the Carolina Panthers.

The 24-year old Theus played his college football at Georgia, before being selected in the 5th-round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Theus played four games for the 49ers, prior to being claimed off waiver by the Panthers.

The 6-foot-6, 303-pound Theus didn't see action for Carolina, and was placed on injured reserve in December.

To make room for Theus, the Saints waived veteran linebacker Gerald Hodges, who played in 11 games for the team last season, mostly on special teams.
