The New Orleans Saints may be adding some depth to their group of receivers.

The offer sheet is a two-year deal worth $9.6MM ($5.4MM guaranteed), plus incentives.

The Bears will now have five days to match the offer.

If Chicago does match, Meredith returns to the Bears. If they don't match, the Saints are not required to give the Bears any compensation.

The 25-year old Meredith played his college football at Illinois St., before signing with the Chicago Bears in 2015 as an undrafted free agent in 2015 out of Illinois State.

After an impressive 2016 season, one in which he caught 66 passes for 888 yards and four touchdowns, Meredith was the top receiver on the Bears' depth chart heading into last season, before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee during a preseason game.

The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Meredith missed all of the 2017 NFL season, due to the injury.

A native of Westchester, Illinois, Meredith has compiled 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns over two career seasons.
