Schools Closed Today Due To Winter Storm Advisory

School boards throughout Acadiana--and south Louisiana-- are announcing closures for today, January 16 due to pending freeze warnings.

We will continue updating the list as school systems possibly announce closures throughout the day.

Lafayette Parish

UPDATE: UL-Lafayette will close at 3 PM today. Bus service will discontinue at 4 PM. An announcement is expected around 8 PM tonight on the university's status for Wednesday.

UPDATE: SLCC will close at 2 PM. An announcement is expected around 8 PM tonight on the university's status for Wednesday.

All Lafayette Parish public schools will be closed Tuesday. LPSS officials will decide tomorrow if classes will resume on Wednesday.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be open Tuesday, Jan. 16. Classes will be held as scheduled.

Students who are unable to travel to classes should contact professors. If a student needs further assistance, he or she can contact the Dean of Students Office atÂ deanofstudents@louisiana.eduÂ or (337) 482-6276.

Faculty and staff members who are unable to travel to work should contact their immediate supervisors.

The University will continue to monitor the National Weather Service. Should weather conditions change, information will be provided at official University websites and social media, or via the emergency notification system.
