A student at South Louisiana Community College was arrested after the weapon was discovered and police arrived at the scene.

An arctic blast of air is wreaking havoc on Acadiana and school districts have been forced to close schools across the area.

These funds will help the many students at SLCC who are one flat tire, one sick child, or one week of reduced hours at work to remain in school this semester.

South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette recently received a $100,000 donation from the Metallica Scholars Initiative.
