Residents have reportedly experienced power outages in various parts of Lafayette Parish on Monday night (Jan. 15), as the region faces unusually cold temperatures dipping below freezing.

This stretch of record-breaking heat in south Louisiana has put a strain on air conditioners across the area. And it also has caused some damage to part of one power company's infrastructure.

SLEMCO crew members loaded up, headed out, and they hit the grown running when they got to Clarksville, Georgia.

The company's CEO says their employees really earned this national recognition.
