Traffic Stop Leads To Lafayette Man’s Arrest

Late Monday evening, a St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Main Highway in St. Martinville which led to the arrest of a Lafayette man.

Narcotics agents arrested 21-year-old Hunter Abshire for being in possession of Molly or MDMA. He also had marijuana.

Abshire is facing the following charges:

• Possession with the intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (MDMA)
• Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Disobeying a Stop Sign

Abshire was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
