Tropical Depression Harvey Has Formed, Could Become Hurricane Before Landfall

Like the killer in a slasher movie, Harvey has returned to life and will threaten southeastern Texas, southwestern Louisiana, and even Acadiana.

KATC Storm Team 3 updated an earlier post about Harvey's potential path with news that Harvey is again a tropical depression. Daniel Phillips says it's possible that Harvey could be at Category 1 hurricane before landfall but that this remains uncertain as of now. While the heaviest rains are expected between Houston and Lake Charles, Acadiana will experience extremely heavy rainfall beginning during the day Saturday and increasing on Monday and Tuesday. Wind damage and tornadoes are also a possibility in the area Monday and Tuesday.
