Stefanski Wins District 42 House Race

When Governor John Bel Edwards tapped District 42 Representative Jack Montouchet to lead the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the district then became "up for grabs".

Two Crowley men have stepped forward to say they want the job.

The two men who qualified for the District 42 Representative's seat are attorney Jay Suire and attorney John Stefanski.

Voters in District 42, which includes Crowley, Egan, Scott and Rayne, just to name a few, decided that John Stefanski is the man who will do a better job of representing their needs in the Louisiana State House.

Here is how the numbers come out tonight with 37 of 37 precincts reporting:

Jay Suire                         45.80 %    3,594 votes

John Stefanski               54.20 %     3,037 votes
