Two Men Arrested On Drug, Weapons Charges After Search Warrant

A 38-year-old Breaux Bridge man and a 33-year-old Sunset man were arrested Friday morning on a host of gun and drug charges.

According to Maj. Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Grand Anse Highway in Breaux Bridge.

"Illegal narcotic and firearms were recovered," Higgins said.

Cory Theriot was arrested on counts of resisting an officer by flight, possession of methamphetamine, possession of amphetamine, illegal carrying a weapon in the presence of illegal drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Kevin Darbonne was arrested on counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of amphetamine, illegally carrying a weapon in the presence of illegal drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center, Higgins said.
