Louisiana's Attorney General Jeff Landry says that his office has arrested two women for medicaid fraud.

In one case, 37-year-old Nicole Ferdinand of Paulina, was arrested on four counts of Medicaid fraud after authorities allege she filed claims for medical services that were not real.

In the second case, 33-year-old Saudia Pitts of Hammond, was arrested for allegedly mistreating "an infirmed adult/disabled person". The charge is one count of cruelty to persons with infirmities.

Ferdinand was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, and Pitts was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Prison.

The Attorney General encourages anyone who knows about Medicaid fraud to report it to Jeff Landry's Medicaid Fraud Hotline at 888-799-6885 or visit www.AGJeffLandry.com.

Landry explains why reporting medicaid fraud is so important,

"Medicaid fraud deprives much-needed services for our State's vulnerable; and our office is dedicated to investigating, arresting, and prosecuting fraudsters. Despite potential budget cuts that threaten our efforts to meet the challenges associated with the Governor's Medicaid expansion, we will continue to work hard for the people of Louisiana."
