The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns have climbed a few spots in the latest college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) poll, which was released on Monday, the final rankings before NCAA Regional play begins this weekend.

Louisiana, who is currently 45-6 on the season, including a 26-1 Sun Belt Conference record, ranks number 16 this week, which is up three spots from last week.

The Cajuns, who won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament over the weekend, opens up regional play this Friday, when they take on McNeese St in the first day of play in the Baton Rouge Regional.

Louisiana, who won the Sun Belt Conference regular season title for the 4th-consecutive season, and for the 15th time in the 17-year history of softball in the league, will be appearing in their 19th-stright regional, including their 27th in the last 28 years.

Florida is once again the top team in the RPI rankings this week, followed by Oregon, UCLA, Washington, and Arizona.

6-10 consists of Auburn, Florida St., Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Baylor.

Minnesota, Oklahoma, James Madison, LSU, and Alabama are at 11-15, while Louisiana, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Utah, and BYU round out the top 20.

Michigan, Arizona St., South Carolina, California, and Tulsa are in the 21-25 spots, respectively.

Louisiana is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference school, followed by Texas St. (#29), South Alabama (#54), Georgia St. (#58), UTA (#80), Coastal Carolina (#106), ULM (#111), Troy (#115), Georgia Southern (#117), and Appalachian St. (#232).
