Updated List Of UL Softball Commitments
Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head coach Gerry Glasco has made his program the talk of the college softball recruiting world.
Back in February, we ran down an impressive list of UL softball commitments for the 2021-2022 seasons, and more names have since been added to the list.
I may leave out a name or two; as a matter of fact, I'm sure I will, but let's try and give an updated list of the players that have many softball experts saying that the Cajuns will have one of the top recruiting classes in the nation in both 2021 and 2022.
First let's look at the 2021 class, who can play for UL beginning in 2022:
Haylie Brunson, a shortstop from Mount Pleasant High School (Pennsylvania), who plays travel ball for the Beverly Bandits of Chicago, committed to Louisiana in February.
Outfielder Kayla Falterman, infielder Samantha Graeter, and pitcher Samantha Landry, who all play for the Diamond Sports Hotshots in Texas, committed to the Cajuns shortly after their dramatic 4-3 win over the second-ranked Florida Gators on February 18:
Twin sisters Ellie and Emma Williams, of Westfield School in Perry, Georgia also joined the list of UL softball commitments for the 2021 class, committing back in January:
The pitcher/catcher combination attended the Louisiana/Georgia St. doubleheader on Saturday.
Another top flight player that committed to the Cajuns is shortstop Lauren Harris:
Outfielder Kramer Eschete, from Brenham, Texas has committed, as has Maddie Hayden, the sister of former UL great Hayley Hayden:
As for the graduating class of 2022, who will be eligible to play for the Cajuns in 2023, infielder Avery Contreras has committed:
Pitcher Hallie Pappion and infielder Cecilia Vasquez, who are teammates of Falterman, Graeter, and Landry with the Diamond Sports Hotshots in Texas have also commitments, giving the Cajuns five combined commitments from that one program.
Finally, infielder Cassie Boatright, a middle infielder who plays for Loganville Christian Academy in Walton County, Georgia, is the latest commitment.
And coach Glasco continues to pound the recruiting pavement, with more to still come.
This is really an impressive list of names that has made UL the talk of, and maybe the envy of, the softball world.
Keep in mind, verbal commitments are non-binding, so nothing is official until these young ladies sign, but the future certainly looks bright for Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball!
