Victims Forced Out Of Car After Iberia Robbery
A New Iberia man and juvenile have been arrested and charged with armed robbery along with other violations after allegedly taking money at gunpoint during a phone purchasing scheme-gone-wrong. Just after ten o’clock Thursday night, dispatchers with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding the incident.
When deputies arrived, they received information from the two 16 year old victims regarding the alleged armed robbery.
The victims said they went for a ride with the two suspects in an attempt to buy a cell phone from the suspects.
The victims handed over the money and asked for the phone. They say that’s when one of the suspects took out a hand gun, pointed it at them and told them to get out of the car. The victims then called their parents who reported the crime to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement officials located the two suspects and took them in for questioning.
Wilson was eventually charged with principal to armed robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The 16-year-old was charged with armed robbery.
