The Lafayette Police Department has issued a misdemeanor warrant for a substitute teacher accused of putting tape over a 9-year-old student's mouth last month.

Curley B. Henry, of Lafayette, is accused of putting painter's tape of the child's mouth while in school on September 12th.

Lafayette Parish Superintendent Pat Cooper says the incident happened at J.W. James Elementary. Cooper says that Henry was promptly terminated after the school discovered what he had done.

Corporal Paul Mouton with the LPD says that the warrant was issued after Henry failed to come in to cooperate with investigators.
