The 2018 regular season is complete, and now it's time for postseason play.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will play host to an 8-team field in this year's 2018 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship, beginning on Wednesday at Lamson Park.

So, when/who will Louisiana play in their first game?

Well, the top-seed, Texas St. (who defeated UTA on Sunday) and the Cajuns, who are the #2-seed, will draw first-day byes in the event.

That means Louisiana's first game will be on Thursday.

Unofficially (brackets will officially be released on Sunday night), the Cajuns will play at 12:30 pm on Thursday afternoon.

The only two times that they could play on that day would be 12:30 pm or 10 am.

Why aren't they scheduled to play their first game at night?

Because the last two games that day are elimination games.

Who will Louisiana play?

Now it gets a little more complicated.

The #6 (South Alabama) and #7-seed (Georgia Southern) will play at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, with the winner advancing to face 3rd-seeded Georgia St. at 5:30 pm.

The winner of that game would play the Cajuns on Thursday at 12:30 pm.

So, as it stands now, Louisiana is scheduled to play on Thursday at 12:30 pm, against either Georgia St., South Alabama, or Georgia Southern.

If the Cajuns win on Thursday, they would play on Friday morning at 11 o'clock.

The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 o'clock.

The complete tournament bracket can be seen here.

Louisiana is 56-8 all-time in the event, and has won 14-of-18 since the tournament began back in 2000.
