UPDATE: Armed Robbery Suspect Nabbed

UPDATE: Lafayette Police have now named the man arrested in connection with this case. Police have arrested 26-year-old Gary Montez Mitchell Jr. on five counts of armed robbery and one count of flight from an officer.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Lafayette Police officers and Lafayette Sheriff's deputies were able to catch a man wanted for the armed robbery of a pharmacy/convenience store in the 6100 block last night.

Officers got a call around 9:30 that a man with a gun walked in, and demanded money from an employee, and then from customers.

They man fled with an unknown amount of money from the Walgreen's store, but police were on his trail.

They arrested him, and no one was hurt during the robbery.

Police say more information will be released when it becomes available.
