Louisiana State Police say they're continuing their investigation into what can only be described as a very bizarre traffic incident that took the life of Jennings woman yesterday afternoon. State Police say a wastewater truck failed to negotiate a curve on an I-10 frontage road causing the vehicle to roll over and crush the victim's car.

The official release from State Police described the crash scene this way.

A 2010 Kenworth wastewater truck driven by 25-year-old Michael Lee of Woodville, Texas, was traveling west on I-10 North Frontage Road in a curve when the truck crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane of travel.

As Lee attempted to steer his vehicle back into the westbound lane of travel, he lost control causing the vehicle to roll onto an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 58-year-old Barbara Labouve of Jennings.

Labouve was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Labouve's vehicle was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital with serious injuries.

Routine toxicology tests were taken from both driver's at the scene. The driver of the truck was cited with careless operation. However, State Police are continuing their investigation so further charges could be pending.
