It certainly has been quite a week for a former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball standout.

Shortstop Blake Trahan got the long-awaited call from the Cincinnati Reds last Saturday that he had been dreaming about, becoming a Major League Baseball player.

On Monday, Trahan recorded a single to center for his first career hit in the top of the half of the 7th inning, in Cincinnati's 5-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates:

Better yet, Trahan did it with his parents, Mike and Liz Trahan in the stands.

A native of Kinder, and a member of the Cajuns from 2013-2015, Trahan talked about fulfilling his life-long dream:
