Body Found After Police Put Out A Fire

The State Fire Marshal's Office along with St. James Parish Sheriff's detectives are investigating after a woman's body was found in a home that was destroyed by a fire.

Firefighters were call out to 1931 West Main Street in Lutcher Tuesday night after a fire was reported.

The firefighters responding to the blaze found the body of 66-year-old Christine Luminais-Benson in the home.

The case is being investigated by both agencies, and the body will be examined by the St. James Cororner today.

The cause of the fire is also still being investigated.
