St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says that his detectives are now investigating a death in Lawtell that happened on September 16 as a homicide.

Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux says, via press release, that the man has been identified at 66-year-old Joseph Vallian.

The man was found at a home in the 400 block of McClelland Street after a call came into the 911 dispatch center Wednesday, September 16 after 5 o'clock.

Thibodeaux says that the autopsy revealed that the man died from blunt force trauma.

He adds that they are not giving out any other details right now, but they are looking for information in connection with this case.
