This year's Record Store Day (April 20) is shaping up to be a classic rock extravaganza (emphasis on 'extra'): From Cream's triple-vinyl live set to David Bowie's string of singles to Paul McCartney's live EP, some of rock's most legendary acts are digging deep into their respective vaults and unleashing goodies.

But this is also a good year for prog-rock junkies. First, we reported that King Crimson would release their zany package 'Going Schizoid with King Crimson;' now Emerson, Lake & Palmer are getting in on the act with 'The First Five: A Picture Disc Collection,' an "individually numbered box set that contains the first five ELP records on picture discs."

In terms of ELP box sets, this is an excellent option: The band's first five albums ('Emerson, Lake & Palmer,' 'Tarkus,' 'Pictures at an Exhibition,' 'Trilogy,' and 'Brain Salad Surgery') happen to be their five best. (Let's not even discuss 1978's atrocious 'Love Beach.')
