Family Of UL Softball’s Bailey Curry Seem To Enjoy The Atmosphere
The family members of a newcomer to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns seem to be enjoying the softball atmosphere at Lamson Park.
Friends and family of first baseman Bailey Curry, a sophomore, who played last season at Toledo, were at both of Louisiana's fall ball games last week, against McNeese on Thursday, and against LSU-E on Saturday, and seemed to enjoy their time away from their home state of Kentucky.
Curry's dad, Paul Curry, even did a couple of facebook live segments:
Bailey gave them something to cheer about too, as she homered in Thursday night's win.
If they think the atmosphere is great now, just wait until the regular season starts!
Curry is a rising sophomore and a hard hitting infielder who was also named to the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region team, leading Toledo in average (.362), hits (64), home runs (14), RBI (46), walks (34), slugging (.633) and on-base percentage (.465) during her first season in collegiate athletics.
Home runs and power were something that the Cajuns lacked last season, but adding Curry, who ranked in the top 10 in the country in homers as a freshman in 2018, will greatly help.
Curry, a native of Frankfort, Ky., ranked Top 150 in the country in hits, home runs, RBI's, total bases, slugging percentage and walks.
In addition, Curry was a three-time Eighth Region Player of the Year and first team All-State selection at Anderson County High School, finishing her high school career with a Kentucky state-record of 75 home runs.
