Scott firefighters were called out to battle a fire at the former Romero's Grocery Store on Louisiana Highway 93.

Scott Fire Department Chief Chad Sonnier says that a fire was reported at the commercial building at around 10 o'clock Tuesday night.

While there was heavy smoke throughout both floors of the structure, the fire was mostly contained in one room on the first floor. Other areas of the first floor had moderate smoke damage.

The second floor of the structure had minor smoke damage. What caused the fire is not known, but Sonnier says they are continuing to investigate the situation.

No one was hurt because of the fire.
