A former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball player, who was in the starting lineup for the teams' first game last season, has found a new college home.

Catcher Caitlin Garcia, who was the starting catcher when the Cajuns took the field for their 2018 season opener against Samford, transferred to Nicholls over the summer.

A native of Spring, Texas, Garcia started 8 games for Louisiana last season, while appearing in 20 games, total, but had only four at-bats over the final 28 games of the season.

As a freshman, Garcia ended up hitting an .077 (2-for-26), with a double and four runs batted in.

A graduate of Spring High School, where she hit a .500 with 12 home runs and 59 RBI's as a senior, Garcia will have three years of eligibility remaining at Nicholls.

We wish Caitlin the best of luck at Nicholls.
