These Four Popular Lafayette Restaurants Have All Closed Within The Last Week

Definitely not the best week for food spots in Lafayette.

First we got the news that Hurricane Grill & Wings was closing.

Then we learned that this past Saturday was the final dinner service for Guidry's Reef after four decades in business.

After that, the urban myth of the Johnston Street/Doucet curse was reborn when Mellow Mushroom announced that this Sunday will be their last day in business.

And the final blow was finding out that Country Cuisine, a soul food staple on University is closing down soon as well.

Is it the economy? The oilfield? The recent floods? No one knows for sure, but we're sad to see these places close—especially the spots who have been in business for several generations.
