Eastbound I-10 Closed After Multi-Vehicle Crash [DETOUR]
UPDATE: Westbound lanes of I-10 have been re-opened after the multiple vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler in the Scott area. Scott Police Chief Chad Leger tells KPEL News, an official detour has been posted.
Eastbound I-10 remains closed between exit 92 and exit 97. Drivers are being diverted from I-10 to Hwy 90 (Cameron St.) at exit 92. The detour takes drivers all the way to Apollo Road in Scott where they can re-enter I-10 at Exit 97.
KATC reports all lanes of I-10 are closed between mile markers 69 and 97 in the Scott area after an 18-wheeler crash involving several other vehicles.
An eyewitness tells KPEL News that at least one person looked to be unresponsive on the scene of the crash. Local media reports also state the truck may be carrying hazardous materials. We are waiting for confirmation from Louisiana State Police on both of these details.
In the meantime, you are urged to take an alternate route. Highway 90 is backing up to the West according to drivers in the area. We will update the story as more information becomes available.
