71-year-old Booked On Obscenity Charge Following Downtown Shreveport Incident

Residents in Downtown Shreveport noticed something odd last Friday afternoon. The situation promoted several witnesses to make 911 calls.

About 3:30pm on October 18th, Shreveport Police officers responded to multiple citizen reports regarding a naked man near West 80th Street and St. Vincent Avenue. Emergency dispatchers had taken a few calls, and sent the patrol units to the reported location...an abandoned commercial facility.

Callers reported an nude male standing in full view along the intersection. Responding officers secured the area, and the suspect.

Nude Suspect Arrested At The Scene

Officers located 71-year-old Gerald Scott at the site, with his pants lowered and genitalia exposed. Because Scott appeared incoherent, officers requested Shreveport Fire Department personnel to conduct a medical evaluation.

Following medical clearance, officers transported Scott to the Shreveport City Jail. Authorities booked Scott on one count of Obscenity. Scott was processed, and as of this report, remains in custody. He is currently being held at the Caddo Correctional Center.
