FBI Says 3 ‘Little Rascals’ Robbed a Bank in Texas

If it seems like criminals are getting younger by the day, you are not imagining that after the FBI says the three suspects in a crime they are investigating are an 11-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 16-year-old according to ABC13 in Houston.

If you know the saying, "If you do the crime, then you do the time" well apparently the parents of 2 suspects believe in that philosophy because they turned their kids.

The third kid was in a fight and after being recognized by a police officer, he was arrested.

What crime did they commit? They walked into a branch of a Wells Fargo Bank in Houston and robbed the place. That's right. These three went up to the counter, handed the teller a threatening note claiming they were armed, and walked off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Using children for crime is becoming more well known according to retired juvenile district court judge Mike Schneider told ABC13 in Houston. He told them,

I was thinking either this was very low in sophistication or maybe an adult had something to do with this. That is not uncommon. Because kids have a punishment that is less severe, it is not uncommon for adult offenders to get them to commit crimes.

After the bank robbery, video of the scene was used on local media outlets to identify the three suspects. The FBI dubbed them the "Little Rascals"

As far as how severe things could be, well, the judge says the 11 and 12-year-olds could get probation or juvenile jail until they are 18. The 16-year-old might get the same, but have to stay in jail until 19. If he is tried as an adult, that could change things.
