UPDATE: St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says they have now captured Tanner.

ORIGINAL STORY:

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says his deputies are searching for a man who they say is responsible for two shootings on Sunday and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Sheriff Guidroz says Robert Tanner allegedly shot a man who came to repossess his car, and he says Tanner is accused of shooting into a church Sunday.

Here is what Sheriff Guidroz told KATC,

He [Robert Tanner] belongs to a group of people that are anti-government and they feel that there is no such thing as law enforcement. They feel that they don't have to pay taxes, and that law enforcement can't enforce the law because of his sovereignty.

They are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Robert Tanner to contact the St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers Tips Line at 337-948-TIPS (8477). You do not have to identify yourself to give information.

Another anonymous way to give information to deputies is to download and use the P3 app on any mobile device.

Once he is found, Tanner will be charged with Aggravated Assault and Attempted Murder.

Sheriff Guidroz says this is not the first time that Robert Tanner has been in trouble with the law.
