Louisiana and Texas Walmart Stores Part of Recall for Popular Food Item

A popular food item, a snack, is now being recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Louisiana and Texas Walmart stores.

The announcement came Wednesday by the agency and it all centers around a warning missing from the labeling of the product.

Recalls are a common thing these days, mainly because of so many legalities, thus brands are quick to pull items from shelves if there is a potential threat, and that appears to be the case in this latest recall.

According to the report, John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. issued their voluntary recall of certain Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews sold at Walmart stores.

The reasoning behind the recall of the Cashews is that the cans were incorrectly labeled and they did not contain proper allergen warnings.

Cans impacted by the recall are described as such, an 8.25-oz plastic can with a blue wrap around the label. The “best used by” date to look for on the cans sold is July 8, 2025.

In the recall, it was noted “undeclared milk and coconut allergens” as the reason for the announcement.

Those who are allergic to milk or coconut can get sick or suffer from life-threatening complications if they come into contact with the Cashews being recalled here.

While no complications have yet to be reported, the company advises customers to either dispose of the Cashews or return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
