Watermelon Explodes After Football Players Wrap Rubber Bands Around It

Who knew that this was even possible?

The South Carolina Gamecocks are slowly wrapping up their pre-season activities and like a lot of teams, they too are having some fun before the 2023 season starts.

In a recent viral video players each took a turn putting a rubber band around a watermelon and the mission was to see if it would explode.

By wrapping the MANY rubber bands around the melon, the pressure inside of it increases until it explodes. But is this even possible?

Well, it happened and it was like a small bomb going off.

After many rubber bands were wrapped around the watermelon the pressure inside of it reached the "breaking point" and the watermelon went flying.

As you'll see below, some players approached the watermelon with caution as they kept their helmets on when it was their turn to place a rubber band around the melon.

Look, I can't lie, I now want to try this at home and if we do, I too may put a helmet on as a form of protection.
