Former KATC-TV 3 meteorologist Bradley Benoit has a new gig as he's joined the team at WCJB TV20 News in Gainesville, Florida.

That news was announced on social media earlier today (April 23, 2024).

Benoit joins the north-central Florida station as Evening Meteorologist, which many would deem as a step up from his weekend duties in Lafayette at KATC-TV 3.

Speaking of, Benoit spent the last four years at KATC-TV 3 in the Hub City.

(He's basically trading in one swamp for another.)

Benoit, a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, graduated from the University of Louisiana Monroe, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.

While in college, he interned at WWL-TV in New Orleans.

He joined KATC in May 2020, during the beginning of the COVID pandemic, and had been with the station until his departure a couple of weeks ago.

We wish Bradley the best of luck in his new position at his new station.

This is the second bit of news in the last week involving former KATC meteorologists.

Dave Baker, a former longtime meteorologist and anchor at the Lafayette-based ABC affiliate has resurfaced with a YouTube-based daily forecast.

He created a YouTube channel where he shares a daily weather message and lets folks know every morning what to expect and how he arrived at his forecast.
