A new restaurant called Jim Deggy's Brick Oven Pizza & Brewery will be opening soon in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana.

The locally-owned business is planning a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Thursday, May 9 at 3:30 pm. Then right after that, at 4:00 pm, the doors to the restaurant will be open for business to the general public.

The restaurant is located at 201 Jefferson Street in downtown Lafayette. This is the former Dat Dog space that occupied the building for a hot minute but closed in 2020.

Jim Deggy's is owned by Paul Averett and will feature hand-tossed 11-inch pizzas cooked in a brick oven over a wood fire. They'll also feature wings, soups, and salads.

The restaurant will also be the home to an in-house craft beer selection along with cocktails and wines.

Jim Deggy's will be open seven days a week and the hours are as follows:

  • Monday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Thursday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Friday: 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
  • Saturday: 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
  • Sunday: 11:00 am - 8:00 pm

Also, expect frequent live music in the restaurant. There is a corner stage inside and according to a recent Facebook post, they are looking for musicians.

And here's a picture shared on social media by Teresa Williamson Rainey of a musician performing during a sneak peek event at the restaurant.
