Lafayette fire investigators have arrested 24-year-old Cameron Simmons for simple arson along with simple burglary after they say he set a fire at this girlfriend's house in January.

Investigators say the home was heavily damage by the fire, but no one was at home at the time.

They say this was retaliation against the man's girlfriend as they were involved in a domestic dispute.

Firefighters say the fire started in a bedroom of the home in the 100 block of Oxbow Drive.

Neighbors saw that smoke was coming from the home, and they call the fire department.

The home was severely damage by the fire.

Simmons was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
